Trust and Rest

Series: Good vs Evil – Spirit Battle

All of us, like sheep, have strayed away.  We have left God’s paths to follow our own. Yet the Lord laid on him the sins of us all. Isaiah 53:6

Sheep cannot without a Shepherd, and they tend to wander.

“I am the good shepherd; I know my own sheep, and they know me, 15 just as my Father knows me and I know the Father. So I sacrifice my life for the sheep. John 10:14-15

A Good Shephard lays down his life for his sheep, and his sheep know his voice

When The Lord Is Your Shepherd

  • You will have all you need.

The Lord is my shepherd; I have all that I need.  Ps 23:1

Kingdom Needs are different than worldly needs.

Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need. Matt 6:33

  • You will have nourishment and rest.

He lets me rest in green meadows; he leads me beside peaceful streams. 3 He renews my strength.  Ps 23:2-3a

  • You will be guided along the right path.

He guides me along right paths, bringing honor to his name. Ps 23:3

  • Commit to follow up front
  • Fail or succeed and you will gain wisdom from obedience
  • You will have protection.

Even when I walk through the darkest valley,  I will not be afraid,
for you are close beside me.  Your rod and your staff protect and comfort me. Ps 23:4

Don’t love money; be satisfied with what you have. For God has said, “I will never fail you.  I will never abandon you.” So we can say with confidence, “The Lord is my helper, so I will have no fear.
What can mere people do to me?”   Heb 13:5-6

  • You will feel gratitude and blessed.

You prepare a feast for me in the presence of my enemies.
You honor me by anointing my head with oil. My cup overflows with blessings.   Surely your goodness and unfailing love will pursue me
all the days of my life, and I will live in the house of the Lord forever.  Ps 23:5-6
