Their responsibility is to equip God’s people to do his work and build up the church, the body of Christ. 13 This will continue until we all come to such unity in our faith and knowledge of God’s Son that we will be mature in the Lord, measuring up to the full and complete standard of Christ. - We Are Reborn into The Same Family
Jesus replied, “I tell you the truth, unless you are born again, you cannot see the Kingdom of God.”
4 “What do you mean?” exclaimed Nicodemus. “How can an old man go back into his mother’s womb and be born again?” John 3:3-4
Humans can reproduce only human life, but the Holy Spirit gives birth to spiritual life. John 3:6
We all have our own weaknesses we bring to the table from our old nature.
So get rid of all evil behavior. Be done with all deceit, hypocrisy, jealousy, and all unkind speech. 2 Like newborn babies, you must crave pure spiritual milk so that you will grow into a full experience of salvation. Cry out for this nourishment,3 now that you have had a taste of the Lord’s kindness. 1 Pet 1:1-3
- We have inherited the family building business.
you are living stones that God is building into his spiritual temple. What’s more, you are his holy priests. Through the mediation of Jesus Christ, you offer spiritual sacrifices that please God. 1 Pet 2:5
All of you together are Christ’s body, and each of you is a part of it. 1 Cor 12:27
Jesus was the Body of Christ before we became the body of Christ.
…you are a chosen people. You are royal priests, a holy nation, God’s very own possession. 1 Pet 2:9
- God’s mercy changed us and made us His representatives.
“Once you had no identity as a people; now you are God’s people.
Once you received no mercy; now you have received God’s mercy.” 1 Pet 2:10
We are foreigners called to live better than the citizens.
Dear friends, I warn you as “temporary residents and foreigners” to keep away from worldly desires that wage war against your very souls. 1 Pet 2:11
We are to be people of integrity and above reproach Irreproachable: beyond criticism
Be careful to live properly among your unbelieving neighbors. Then even if they accuse you of doing wrong, they will see your honorable behavior, and they will give honor to God when he judges the world. 1 Pet 2:11-12
You are always a witness for Christ. Good or bad
