Friendship Is A Risky Investment Series:  Heart to Heart – A Better Life With People

Friendship is an investment that is worth the risk.

You need to invest 50 hours to become a casual friend, 90 hours to become a friend, 200+ to become a best friend.

Worship God to love people.  If we are not loving people we are not worshiping God.

Invest God’s love with skin.

No one has ever seen God. But if we love each other, God lives in us, and his love is brought to full expression in us. 1 John 4:12

Invest patience

Understand this, my dear brothers and sisters: You must all be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to get angry. James 1:19

Invest kindness

Get rid of all bitterness, rage, anger, harsh words, and slander, as well as all types of evil behavior. 32 Instead, be kind to each other, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God through Christ has forgiven you. Eph 4:31-32

Invest humility    (respect          )

Pride ends in humiliation, while humility brings honor,  Pro 29:23

Invest courtesy

Love is not rude. It does not demand its own way. It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged.  1 Cor 13:5

Invest courage

Let us think of ways to motivate one another to acts of love and good works.  Heb 10:24

Invest loyalty to build trust.

They visit me as if they were my friends, but all the while they gather gossip, and when they leave, they spread it everywhere. Ps 41:6

Invest truth with love.

As iron sharpens iron, so a friend sharpens a friend. Pr 27:17

An honest answer is like a kiss of friendship. Pr 24:26

The best reason for the risky investment of friendship is your friendship with God.

Owe nothing to anyone—except for your obligation to love one another. If you love your neighbor, you will fulfill the requirements of God’s law. Rom 13:8

God put his love on the line for us by offering his Son in sacrificial death while we were of no use whatever to him. Rom 5:8 MSG
