First of all his name was Jesus.

The angel said to Mary ….

You will conceive and give birth to a son, and you will name him Jesus. Luke 1:31

Jesus, or Joshua in Aramaic means the salvation of God.  It was in his name.  Jesus came for a reason.

Joshua was a very common name in Mary’s day.  God became man and he did not put himself into a unique family and there were many people names Joshua.

The Savior—yes, the Messiah, the Lord—has been born today in Bethlehem, the city of David! Luke 2:11

Jesus came with a mission.  He came to save the world from being separated from God.  Do you ever wonder why our world is so messed up?  Do you ever wonder why bad things happen to good people?  It’s because we live in a world that is separated from God.  Jesus came to make the reconnect.  One life at a time.

The angel also called Him Messiah, or Christ.  Messiah means “promised one from God.”   There were a lot of Joshua’s or Jesus’.  But there was only one Jesus the promised savior of God.

He already was and he came to be Lord.  Christ or Messiah the Lord.  Lord of all.

If you are a believer in Christ then you are both a friend of Jesus and he is your Lord.

Are you a believer?  I am.  Jesus made such a difference in my life.  If you believe Jesus is the promised Savior of God and you make Him Lord or boss of your life, he saves you from being disconnected from God.

Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank you for loving me so much you sent Jesus to fix my relationship with you.  I am ready to stop living away from you and live for you.  I want to learn how to live and be like Jesus.  Please guide me.  I will learn how to trust you by obeying you.

In Jesus Name Amen and Amen
