Show Them Where To Look When Life is A Country Song #3

Song: “Watching You” – Rodney Adkins

The following To John was again standing with two of his disciples. 36 As Jesus walked by, John looked at him and declared, “Look! There is the Lamb of God!”37 When John’s two disciples heard this, they followed Jesus. John 1:35-37

Character is caught more than taught.

Actions influence more than words. (Good or bad)

Christian character is different from the world.

Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect. Rom 12:2

A new Christlike character comes with devotion to Christ.

So we have stopped evaluating others from a human point of view. At one time we thought of Christ merely from a human point of view. How differently we know him now! 17 This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun! Eph 5:16-17

See others through the eyes of the reconciling love of Jesus.

he gave us this wonderful message of reconciliation. 20 So we are Christ’s ambassadors; God is making his appeal through us. We speak for Christ when we plead, “Come back to God!” Eph 5:19-20

But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you. And you will be my witnesses, telling people about me everywhere Acts 1:8

How To Improve Your Influence

  1. Think the think, walk the walk, talk the talk.

  • Do what you know to do starting with the small things.
  • Work making sure you are right on the inside.
  • Develop your trust through obedience
  • Love God Love People.  (Other-centered)

2)  Love – Respect – Encourage – Point to Jesus

36 “Teacher, which is the most important commandment in the law of Moses?”

37 Jesus replied, “‘You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind.’ 38 This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 A second is equally important: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ 40 The entire law and all the demands of the prophets are based on these two commandments.” Matt 22:36-40

3) Connect with believers and pre-believers.  You are a

witness not a salesman or lawyer for Jesus.

Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Matt 28:19

But how can they call on him to save them unless they believe in him? And how can they believe in him if they have never heard about him? And how can they hear about him unless someone tells them? 15 And how will anyone go and tell them without being sent? That is why the Scriptures say, “How beautiful are the feet of messengers who bring good news!” Rom 10:14-15

Fathers, don’t exasperate your children by coming down hard on them. Take them by the hand and lead them in the way of the Master. Eph 6:4 MSG
