When Life is A Country Song #1
April 8 – WHEN LIFE IS A COUNTRY SONG
“I have loved you even as the Father has loved me. Remain in my love. 10 When you obey my commandments, you remain in my love, just as I obey my Father’s commandments and remain in his love. 11 I have told you these things so that you will be filled with my joy. Yes, your joy will overflow! John 15:9-11
If you look through the truth for good, and expect good, you will choose good, see good and experience joy.
“A person who has forgotten what God treasures will not be filled with joy.” ~ Oswald Chambers
You will show me the way of life, granting me the joy of your presence and the pleasures of living with you forever. Ps 16:11
- Choose to accept that God is the boss. Love and follow Him
If someone claims, “I know God,” but doesn’t obey God’s commandments, that person is a liar and is not living in the truth. 5 But those who obey God’s word truly show how completely they love him. That is how we know we are living in him. 6 Those who say they live in God should live their lives as Jesus did. 1 John 2:4-6
But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against these things! Gal 5:22-23
- Choose to look for good. (Be positive)
Hang out with positive people.
Help others be good.
- Choose to be content in all situations. (Not the same as denial)
Don’t love money; be satisfied with what you have. For God has said, “I will never fail you. I will never abandon you.” 6 So we can say with confidence, “The Lord is my helper, so I will have no fear. What can mere people do to me?” Heb 13:5-6
- Choose to be ok with criticism.
- Trust God. He knows what is best and you are a part of His story.
And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them. 29 For God knew his people in advance, and he chose them to become like his Son, so that his Son would be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters. Rom 8:28-29
- Be quick to forgive.
14 “If you forgive those who sin against you, your heavenly Father will forgive you.15 But if you refuse to forgive others, your Father will not forgive your sins. Matt 6:14-15
