God’s Riches At Christ’s Expense

1) It’s God’s character.

The Lord is merciful and compassionate, slow to get angry and filled with unfailing love. Psalm 145:8

2) It comes with the gift of Jesus.

For the law was given through Moses, but God’s unfailing love and faithfulness came through Jesus Christ. John 1:17

3) It never goes away.

For God saved us and called us to live a holy life. He did this, not because we deserved it, but because that was his plan from before the beginning of time—to show us his grace through Christ Jesus. 2 Tim 1:9

God’s law was given so that all people could see how sinful they were. But as people sinned more and more, God’s wonderful grace became more abundant. Rom 5:20

4) You can choose to limit the power of God’s grace but not lose it.

What Comes With God’s Grace?

God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God. Eph 2:8

2) You receive the Holy Spirit within you and the power of God working in your life.

Let me ask you this one question: Did you receive the Holy Spirit by obeying the law of Moses? Of course not! You received the Spirit because you believed the message you heard about Christ. Gal 3:2

I ask you again, does God give you the Holy Spirit and work miracles among you because you obey the law? Of course not! It is because you believe the message you heard about Christ.

3) Living in the power of God’s grace promotes
spiritual maturity.

…you must grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. 2 Pet 3:18

4) I can resist temptation and handle anything.

For God is working in you, giving you the desire and the power to do what pleases him. Phil 2:13

This High Priest of ours understands our weaknesses, for he faced all of the same testings we do, yet he did not sin. Heb 4:15
