Temptation comes from our own desires, which entice us and drag us away. James 1:14

Jesus said; “The thief’s purpose is to steal and kill and destroy. My purpose is to give them a rich and satisfying life.” John 10:10

Jesus uses Truth and love.

We know what real love is because Jesus gave up his life for us. 1 John 3:16

Devil uses lies and hate.

For you are the children of your father the devil, and you love to do the evil things he does. He was a murderer from the beginning. He has always hated the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he lies, it is consistent with his character; for he is a liar and the father of lies. John 8:44

Three Important Actions To Beat Temptation
1) Stay close to God. (Practice His presence)

God tests to get you closer… (life)
The Devil tempts to pull you away. (death)

And remember, when you are being tempted, do not say, “God is tempting me.” God is never tempted to do wrong, and he never tempts anyone else. James 1:13

You are created with desires.
You choose good or evil to satisfy your desires.

Temptation comes from our own desires, which entice us and drag us away. James 1:14

Deception sets the trap to choose evil.
The wrong choice will lead you away.

These desires give birth to sinful actions. And when sin is allowed to grow, it gives birth to death. 16 So don’t be misled, my dear brothers and sisters. James 1:15-16

2) Focus on the perfect goodness of God.

Whatever is good and perfect is a gift coming down to us from God our Father, who created all the lights in the heavens He never changes or casts a shifting shadow James 1:17

God is good and He never changes.

3) Listen and obey God’s Word and His Spirit within.

He chose to give birth to us by giving us his true word. And we, out of all creation, became his prized possession.
James 1:18

The temptations in your life are no different from what others experience. And God is faithful. He will not allow the temptation to be more than you can stand. When you are tempted, he will show you a way out so that you can endure. 1 Cor 10:13
