I will sing of your love and justice, Lord. I will praise you with songs. Ps 101:1
1) Devotion of the heart.
2 I will be careful to live a blameless life—when will you come to help me? I will lead a life of integrity in my own home.
• Heart condition more important than actions.
• God’s representative
• A life that glorifies God
• Holiness in private and public life.
• Blameless is not sinless.
2) Devotion of the eyes.
3 I will refuse to look at anything vile and vulgar. I hate all who deal crookedly; I will have nothing to do with them.
4 I will reject perverse ideas and stay away from every evil.
The eyes will seek what the heart loves.
Anything I wanted, I would take. I denied myself no pleasure. I even found great pleasure in hard work, a reward for all my labors. 11 But as I looked at everything I had worked so hard to accomplish, it was all so meaningless—like chasing the wind. There was nothing really worthwhile anywhere. Ecc 2:10-11
3) Devotion to supportive community.
5 I will not tolerate people who slander their neighbors. I will not endure conceit and pride.
6 I will search for faithful people to be my companions. Only those who are above reproach will be allowed to serve me.
4) Devotion of the will based on Truth.
7 I will not allow deceivers to serve in my house, and liars will not stay in my presence.
8 My daily task will be to ferret out the wicked and free the city of the Lord from their grip.
But I fear that somehow your pure and undivided devotion to Christ will be corrupted, just as Eve was deceived by the cunning ways of the serpent. 2 Cor 11:3
