Dear Friends and Family of LCC,
I am always excited about Sundays. I like to call Sunday our “Spiritual Pep Rally” day. We are in the trenches all week and on Sunday we get to freely worship our Lord and let go of the outside stressers. We get to be in a safe place where it is much easier to let go and let God.
Thank you Lord Jesus for starting your church.
When we get together, I want to encourage you in your faith, but I also want to be encouraged by yours. Romans 1:12
I am excited, and we will be blessed to have as our guest worship leader this Sunday from Oklahoma City, Marcy Priest. Marcy has led worship at numerous churches and conferences across the country, performed on live worship albums, and released albums of her own inspirational songwriting. She is best known for being a worship leader at LifeChurch.tv in Oklahoma City.
Come early Sunday for a Cappuccino. Thanks to the donation from a couple of LCCers, we have a Cappuccino-Hot Chocolate machine. I have checked it out and all I can say is … “Smooth and Tasty”.
I will be teaching the last message from the series in Romans called, “The Greatest Letter Ever Written“. At the end of this letter (Ch 16) to the church in Rome the apostle Paul celebrates the family of the church and challenges them to stay on task. He also gives us a warning. He reminds us that we are all involved when it comes to doing the work of God, the holy task. We should celebrate each other as the “Holy Family.”
This series has been such a challenge and such a joy. Sunday is #45.
Its going to be a great day all around. Be there and bring a friend.
NEW WORSHIP LEADER – We are searching for a new Sunday morning worship leader. We will have some great subs in for the next few weeks.
We are also searching for a part-time or intern Student Pastor for our 6th -12th grade students.
Please be in prayer for the people God has for us.
LCC will be participating in “Operation Back to School” on Saturday August 23. They need 400 volunteers to serve all the families in need. You only sign up for two hours.
Fifty Four Percent of the kids in HEB ISD come from economically disadvantaged families. This is a great way to be God’s love with skin. If you can’t volunteer you can donate money online. Just $25.00 provides a kid with a backpack full of school supplies.
I hope to see you at church on Sunday. Bring a friend.
God bless from your brotha from anotha motha
