How To Absolutely Feel Most Loved

#35 Romans 12:3-5

3 Because of the privilege and authority God has given me, I give each of you this warning: Don’t think you are better than you really are. Be honest in your evaluation of yourselves, measuring yourselves by the faith God has given us. 4 Just as our bodies have many parts and each part has a special function, 5 so it is with Christ’s body. We are many parts of one body, and we all belong to each other.

Humans have a deep desire to feel loved and significant.

We feel more loved when we feel significant and more significant when we feel loved.

As long as we stay self-centered, it is impossible to feel loved and significant for any longer than a short period of time.  Just enough to make you believe you can do it on your own.

Three Roadblocks to Contentment.

1)   Pride – I am better than God and others.

Don’t think you are better than you really are. Rom 12:3b

God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God. Eph 2:8

2)    Shame – I am what I am and I can’t change.

Not good enough to be used or loved by God.

For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength. Phil 4:13

This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!      2 Cor 5:17

3)    Independence – As believers we are not complete and cannot fully experience God’s love if we go at it alone.

Be honest in your evaluation of yourselves, measuring yourselves by the faith God has given us. Romans 12:3c

No one has ever seen God. But if we love each other, God lives in us, and his love is brought to full expression in us. 1 John 4:12

How do I remove the roadblocks?

The only way to feel most loved and significant (content) is to be other-centered and focus on God and others as part of the body of Christ.

You are a unique and important part of the body of Christ. (The Church global and local)

4 Just as our bodies have many parts and each part has a special function, 5 so it is with Christ’s body. We are many parts of one body, and we all belong to each other. Rom 12:4-5

As a believer in Christ you:

A)  Are part of the family and incomplete without it.

B)  Are a needed part of the body

C)  Are spiritually gifted to do the job
