Trust God and change yourself.
“Don’t let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God, and trust also in me.” John 14:1
The key ingredient to a lifetime of taking your faith to another level is to “Trust In God”.
So the disciples went out, telling everyone they met to repent of their sins and turn to God. 13 And they cast out many demons and healed many sick people, anointing them with olive oil. Mark 6:12-13
Question: How do people respond when you tell them to repent of their sins? Why?
Problem: Humans have spiritual memory loss.
10 When the apostles returned, they told Jesus everything they had done. Then he slipped quietly away with them toward the town of Bethsaida. Luke 9
Jesus likes to spend alone time with His disciples.
11 But the crowds found out where he was going, and they followed him. He welcomed them and taught them about the Kingdom of God, and he healed those who were sick. Luke 9
Jesus puts the needs of others above his own.
…he had compassion on them because they were like sheep without a shepherd. Mark 6:34
Question: Why would you want people to repent?
Our motive should be compassion.
Problems are just greater opportunities to trust God.
12 Late in the afternoon the twelve disciples came to him and said, “Send the crowds away to the nearby villages and farms, so they can find food and lodging for the night. There is nothing to eat here in this remote place.” 13 But Jesus said, “You feed them.” “But we have only five loaves of bread and two fish,” they answered. “Or are you expecting us to go and buy enough food for this whole crowd?” 14 For there were about 5,000 men there.
Our default mode is to think like humans.
God gives us faith tests.
Jesus replied, “Tell them to sit down in groups of about fifty each.” 15 So the people all sat down. 16 Jesus took the five loaves and two fish, looked up toward heaven, and blessed them.
Put the problem in God’s hands.
Then, breaking the loaves into pieces, he kept giving the bread and fish to the disciples so they could distribute it to the people. 17 They all ate as much as they wanted, and afterward, the disciples picked up twelve baskets of leftovers! Luke 9:10-17
Miracles happen in the hands of Jesus, but you have to give hand it over.
God tells us to trust and obey and He will work in ways we would not even have imagined.
Now all glory to God, who is able, through his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think. Eph 3:20
Bring all the tithes into the storehouse so there will be enough food in my Temple. If you do,” says the Lord of Heaven’s Armies, “I will open the windows of heaven for you. I will pour out a blessing so great you won’t have enough room to take it in! Try it! Put me to the test! Mal 3:10
