Jesus said there are just two rules…..

37 Jesus replied, “‘You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind.’ 38 This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 A second is equally important: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ 40 The entire law and all the demands of the prophets are based on these two commandments.” Matt 22:37-38

 1)    Love God                2)  Love people.

Jesus taught and modeled that it is all about love.

Love is what changes lives.

Paul wrote that love is the key to doing Christianity.

So you should earnestly desire the most helpful gifts.  But now let me show you a way of life that is best of all. 1 Cor 12:31

Peter wrote about living for God.  Love each other.

Most important of all, continue to show deep love for each other, for love covers a multitude of sins. 1 Peter 4:8

Love Is What Changes People ….. Life Connections

1)   God loves the lost.  (and draws)

Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me. John 14:6

We know what real love is because Jesus gave up his life for us. So we also ought to give up our lives for our brothers and sisters. 1 John 3:16

2)   Child loves the Father.

Yes, I am the vine; you are the branches. Those who remain in me, and I in them, will produce much fruit. For apart from me you can do nothing. John 15:5

But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against these things! Gal 5:22-23

3)   Child loves the child.

No one has ever seen God. But if we love each other, God lives in us, and his love is brought to full expression in us. 1 John 4:12

4)   Child loves the lost or disconnected child. (unchurched)

Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud or rude. It does not demand its own way. It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged. It does not rejoice about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out. Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance. 1 Cor 13:4-7
