Problem:  They are in a spiritual battle and don’t even know it.

For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places. Eph 6:2

 The thief’s purpose is to steal and kill and destroy. My purpose is to give them a rich and satisfying life. John 10:10

You have died with Christ, and he has set you free from the spiritual powers of this world. So why do you keep on following the rules of the world.. Col 2:20

 How To Win The Daily Battle 1 Peter 5:1-12

In the same way, you younger men must accept the authority of the elders. And all of you, serve each other in humility, for “God opposes the proud but favors the humble.” So humble yourselves under the mighty power of God, and at the right time he will lift you up in honor. 1 Pet 5:5-6

1)   Stay in church and trust God.

  • Seek counsel from mature
  • Serve others
  • Trust God
  • Respect, love, fear, honor God

Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you. 1 Peter 5:7

2)    Let God be in control. (Don’t worry)

  • Realize you are worrying – control
  • Pray and give it to God
  • If you pick it up give it back

3)   Be aware of the battle.

 Stay alert! Watch out for your great enemy, the devil. He prowls around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour. Stand firm against him, and be strong in your faith. Remember that your Christian brothers and sisters all over the world are going through the same kind of suffering you are. 1 Peter 5:8-9

  •  Don’t be a loner
  • Stay close to God and the devil will be obvious

4)   Grow forward in faith and persevere..

 In his kindness God called you to share in his eternal glory by means of Christ Jesus. So after you have suffered a little while, he will restore, support, and strengthen you, and he will place you on a firm foundation. 11 All power to him forever! Amen. 1 Peter 5:10-11

  •  Know and rely on God’s promises
  • Know pain is temporary and you will be stronger
  • Share your successes and God’s glory with others(Butology)

5)   Remember who and whose you are.

I have written and sent this short letter to you with the help of Silas, whom I commend to you as a faithful brother. My purpose in writing is to encourage you and assure you that what you are experiencing is truly part of God’s grace for you. Stand firm in this grace. 1 Peter 5:12
