Dear Friends and Family of LCC,

I hope you are all planning a safe and relaxing holiday unplugged from work.  I hope for you that have to work you can take another day to chill and grill.

royal motorcycleCan you believe it?  Twenty Thirteen is half over.  Time just goes by so fast. We ask questions like, “Where has the time gone?”  Many of us ask, especially at my age, (a little over 29) have I made a difference?  Is anyone’s life going to be better because I have been in it?

I just finished a book by Dave Kraft, Leaders Who Last.  It’s a good leadership book.  I recommend it. Kraft said a life changing moment was when he walked into an office and saw a sign that read, “Some people come into our lives and quietly go. Others stay awhile, and leave footprints on our hearts, and we are never the same.”  It changed the direction and the purpose of his life.  He wanted to make a difference in people’s lives.  He wanted people to be better people because of the relationship he had with them.

Wow.  Wouldn’t that be cool.  What if the people you came across in life were never the same, they were better because of the footprint you made on their hearts?

You know, that is what God calls us to do?  We are not all called to be in full-time Christian ministry, but we are all called to lead others to a better life because they know us, and because we know Jesus.

In Acts 2:47, Luke writes that, because Christians were being who God wanted them to be … loving God and loving people … lives were being changed every day.  Unbelievers were becoming believers because of the influence of the church.

These verses from Acts, in part, are what God used to lead me from a successful counseling practice to founding Life Connection Church. I found, as a counselor, that if I could get people connected to God and other people, their lives would be changed for the better and forever.  That’s why we are called Life Connection Church.

This Sunday will be an awesome holiday weekend Sunday.

  • We will have worship.
  • We will share communion together.
  • We will celebrate Cameron’s last day as he and Tiffany go off to his new full-time calling at a church in Washington state.
  • We will have at least one baptism.
  • And I will be teaching a message I am calling, “Be The Life Changing Relationship“.  Love someone into a better life.
  • After church we will have a covered dish lunch in honor of Cameron and Tiffany.

See you Sunday … and bring a friend.
