What is the key to living with an attitude of forgiveness?                                      Putting God first.

The world thinks that forgiveness is live and let live.

Real forgiveness is to live by receiving and giving life.

Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud or rude. It does not demand its own way. It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged. It does not rejoice about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out. Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance. 1 Cor 13:4-7

How do you endure?  How do you stay consistent?

 1st  … Humility

2nd … Forgiveness

3rd  … Endurance

Can’t forgive without humility and without forgiveness you will not endure.

 A Life of Forgiveness

 Seek —- Accept —- Live —- Give — Ask

 1)    Ask forgiveness and accept forgiveness from God.

If we claim we have no sin, we are only fooling ourselves and not living in the truth. But if we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness. 1 John 1:8-9

Repent of your sins and turn to God, for the Kingdom of Heaven is near. Matt 3:2

 2)     Live forgiveness.

Prove by the way you live that you have repented of your sins and turned to God.  Matt 3:8

 3)    Forgive those who have offended you.

But if you refuse to forgive others, your Father will not forgive your sins.  Matt 6:15

 4)    Ask forgiveness from those you have offended.

“So if you are presenting a sacrificeat the altar in the Temple and you suddenly remember that someone has something against you, 24 leave your sacrifice there at the altar. Go and be reconciled to that person. Then come and offer your sacrifice to God.  Matt 5:23-24

A life of forgiveness will give you a life of freedom.

Modeling forgiveness for your children is offering them the true gift of freedom now and forever.
