Easter is early this year. Resurrection Sunday is just six Sundays from now (March 31). More people go to church or think about going to church on Easter than at any other time of the year. How many Christians do you now who do not have a church home? How many people do you work with are not Christians? Somewhere in the neighborhood of 75% to 80% of people in Tarrant county do not attend a church on a regular basis or at all. Add to that the fact that nine out of ten of that 80% say they would go to church with a friend if asked.
Who are you inviting to church? Someone you know pretty well does not have a church home. Christians are God’s love with skin. We are Jesus’ representatives in our neighborhoods and at the workplace. When we became Christians we were made witnesses with the calling to tell others everywhere about Jesus.
…”you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you. And you will be my witnesses, telling people about me everywhere—in Jerusalem, throughout Judea, in Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” Acts 1:8
Pray right now … Father in Heaven, who do I need to invite to church? Who do I know that needs to know you? As you pray that, God will put someone on your heart … It may be a family member. It may be the guy you talk to every day at lunch. It may be the neighbor you talk to at the curb every time you take out the trash. Who is it? Ask him while you are thinking about it. Pray about it till you see her. If he says no, or I’ll think about it. And if you have already asked, ask again.
If we really believe about Jesus what we say we believe, we are commanded to tell and ask whoever needs to know.
God loves everyone. We are to be God’s love with skin.
