royal motorcycleYou know that as Christians, we are all people of influence.  We are leaders in our faith whether we choose to be or not.  The day we become Christians we also become witnesses of the faith.

But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you. And you will be my witnesses, telling people about me everywhere—in Jerusalem, throughout Judea, in Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”  Acts1:8

We are all witnesses to the experience of having Jesus in our lives.  People look at our Christian lives and are influenced positively or negatively in their opinions of Christ.  And parents, you are the number one spiritual influence on your kids.  The question is, “are we living out our faith in a way that will influence people toward a relationship with Christ or away from Him?”

This Sunday I will continue teaching through the Apostle Paul’s letter to the Romans.  The teaching is titled: What Will Be Your Faith Legacy?  In chapter four he brings up a couple of heroes of the faith.  Abraham and David were just regular people like you and me and God used them to change the course of the world.  Now, thousands of years later God uses the legacies of these two men, because of their faith, to influence our faith.  Abraham and David have incredible stories of trusting in God where they were with what they had.  Then, as they developed their faith muscles, God challenged them to take huge steps of faith and they trusted and obeyed.

We learned from Paul last week that we are justified and made righteous by our faith in Jesus Christ alone.  Abraham and David, who lived over a thousand years before Christ were also justified by their faith and not by their works.

Join us Sunday as we look at the inspiring lives of Abraham and David and see how we can leave a faith legacy that will change the lives of the next generation.
