Men especially don’t usually realize the influence their fathers have on their lives. Even if your father was what you consider a good father, he was not perfect like your heavenly Father. It’s important we realize that our Father in heaven does not have the weaknesses of our father on earth.
Don’t Confuse Your Two Fathers
The problem with fathers …. For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious standard. Rom 3:23
Jesus said; Pray like this: Our Father in heaven,
may your name be kept holy. Matt 6:9
Don’t respond to your heavenly Father based on your experience with your earthly father.
Even if my father and mother abandon me, the Lord will hold me close. Psalm 27:10
God is always present.
I can never escape from your Spirit! I can never get away from your presence! Ps 139:7
Discipline yourself to practice God’s presence.
We can trust God’s truth when we cannot trust our feelings.
All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right. 17 God uses it to prepare and equip his people to do every good work. 2 Tim 3:16-17

Relating to the Perfect Father
1) He knows everything. He made everything.
In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. Gen 1:1 (All you can see and all you can’t see)
If you need wisdom, ask our generous God, and he will give it to you. James 1:5
2) He cares about you better than you can.
Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you. 1 Peter 5:7
Your heavenly Father already knows all your needs, 33 and he will give you all you need from day to day if you live for him and make the Kingdom of God your primary concern. Matt 6:32-33NLT
The LORD is close to the brokenhearted; he rescues those who are crushed in spirit. Ps 34:18 NLT
3) He wants what is best for you.
The LORD is close to all who call on him, yes, to all who call on him sincerely. 19 He fulfills the desires of those who fear him; he hears their cries for help and rescues them. Ps 145:18-19
Whatever is good and perfect comes to us from God above, who created all heaven’s lights. Unlike them, he never changes or casts shifting shadows. James 1:17 NLT
4) He has power over everything.
For nothing is impossible with God.” Luke 1:37 NLT
Now glory be to God! By his mighty power at work within us, he is able to accomplish infinitely more than we would ever dare to ask or hope. Eph 3:20 NLT
5) You don’t have to earn his acceptance … Just accept it.
But to all who believed him and accepted him, he gave the right to become children of God. 13 They are reborn! This is not a physical birth resulting from human passion or plan–this rebirth comes from God. John 1:12-13 NLT
