OK….Be honest….How many of you have already broken from your new year resolution? According to statistics…most of you. And then there are a lot of us who don’t even go there….We have tried too many times, and spent too much money on never used workout equipment, and we don’t like to continue to fail year after year after year.
I know this one thing….If you are a Christian, you want to be a better Christian. And maybe…just maybe….you have given up on taking it up a level or decided that you can only make it to a certain spiritual level….and you have resolved…to just hang where you are.
Please don’t….It is more simple to grow in Christ than you think. There is a very simple rule of life that you can live by and get a redo every time you fail….
Jesus said, ““Do to others whatever you would like them to do to you. This is the essence of all that is taught in the law and the prophets.” Matt 7:12
You may be thinking…”You are kidding me. That’s the golden rule. Its that simple.” I say, “Yes….Absolutely.” Look at the second sentence of that verse. This is the essence of all that is taught in the law and the prophets…. Everything about becoming a better Christian, this year, today, can be summed up in the Golden Rule. We take it lightly because we have heard it our whole life, but it is the life changing truth. It is a life changing truth you can start right now. And you can start over where you left off anytime you leave off.
Please join us at LCC this weekend as I start my New Year New Teaching series:“Don’t be an Oxymoron”. I promise you will like it. I promise you will be hearing truths from God applied to life in a very simple and practical way. And I promise….You have a friend that needs to hear it…. This weeks Oxymoron is “Mean Christian”. Why are there so many mean Christians??? Come and find out…..
