I hope you are taking time to chill and not getting too stressed over the details. A friend of mine passed from this world into [...]

Dear Friends,

It is pretty easy to get caught up in looking at ourselves and being proud of the changes we have made in ourselves as Christian. We study the Word of God, we go to church, we serve others when it feels right. You notice I wrote “proud of the changes”. It is easy to get [...]

My coffee pot was perking very slow and making lots of noise. I told my wife this morning we needed to buy a new one. She told me to run some vinegar through it.
I did, and it works like a charm….. My wife is beautiful and smart…..

It is finally here. The new Indiana Jones Movie. I am looking forward to seeing it. It seems as if most of the reviews are good.
Jeffrey Overstreet with Christianity Today writes:
Fans can stop fretting. He’s back. Dispelling all fears about age and ability, Harrison Ford puts on that legendary fedora and becomes Henry Jones Jr. [...]

Dear Friends,
Mother’s day, as usual, was a special and fun day at LCC. We dedicated a dozen children to the Lord as we prayed for them and their families. We prayed a blessing on the child and the family and a dedication of the LCC community of faith to come along side in helping to protect and [...]

Jesus said that what is most important is to Love God and Love People. He said that if you could focus on obeying these two commands then all others will fall in under the LGLP umbrella. (Luke 10:27) I found out as a professional counselor that if I could focus on getting people reconnected with God and each [...]
Don’t Strive for Success Without God

I like Blackaby’s devotional today. My whole life in church I have heard people say that God must be with them if they are successful. You can be successful without God. There are lots of people who don’t ever acknowledge God that are successful. Success can be a great temptation to go at it alone [...]

I remember as a kid I always liked Speed Racer. I am not sure why. Maybe because I always liked to pretend I was racing a car and I could push a button and it would jump or fly over other cars….. Is this a guy thing???
The Movie version of Speed Racer is now in theaters.

I was a marriage and family therapist for several years before becoming a pastor. Over and over again the inability to communicate openly and honestly with each other was a major if not the main problem in marriages. Even though women usually communicate in a relationship the most, they are not always authentic or effective. [...]

Beginning this morning I am going to be teaching my church through the Gospel of Luke. Part of my fascination with this Gospel is that Luke was not a Jew. He is probably the only Gentile to contribute to the writings of the Word of God in the Bible.
To a Roman Gentile like Paul, the physicalness [...]

Last night I met with my monthly men’s discipleship group. We had just read John Maxwell’s Be a People Person. One of the topics we talked about was that to be a successful leader we have to be willing to risk with both our dreams and in our relationships with other people. We talked about what [...]
