Not only is a life of faith better because we continually have a new life, but a life of faith is better because we have a purpose. Because we have a new life in Christ, we also have a new life through and for Christ. God created us for Himself. We are created in His image and to worship and serve Him.
for through him God created everything in the heavenly realms and on earth.
He made the things we can see and the things we can’t see—such as thrones, kingdoms, rulers, and authorities in the unseen world. Everything was created through him and for him. Col 1:16
We search for meaning in status, friends, posessions, our careers, our kids, who we marry, where we go to church, how much money we make, how many people we know, what we achieve and they all come up short. We set our sights on a goal, a dream, and fall short. Or we get there and we realize it is not enough. We have a God-sized hole in our soul……It can only be filled with one thing…..God.
Rick Warren wrote in The Purpose Driven Life, “It’s not about you…You were made by God and for God—and until you understand that, life will never make sense.”
To have a better life, you need a constant and right purpose that never changes. The Bible says that Christ gives meaning to your life. You were made by God. And God never changes.
He made you for a purpose. And until you understand you were made by God and for God, life’s not going to make sense.
How is that for value? You could lose your job tomorrow. You can lose your bank account tomorrow. Many of us have watched our 401k drop in value this week as the stock market has taken a sharp dip.
God loves you. He made you. He wants and knows what is best for you…… Those facts never change. You are so valuable, the God of the Universe left heaven, became a man, sacrificed his own life, and raised Himself from the dead just so you can be with Him for an eternity.
Thank you my Father in Heaven for showing us how valuable You think we are.
